About Specialist Construction

Twenty years on the outside of the house

Specialist Construction is led by owner Flavio Cabrera, who brings 20 years of experience in exterior construction. Our work starts at the roofline and moves out: roof replacement, roof repair, chimney repair, siding, windows, doors and decks. We do not do interiors. Staying on the outside of the building is what lets us do it well.

Much of our business comes from experience and recommendations: homeowners who call us back for the next project and refer their neighbors, family and friends.

Who we work for

We work for homeowners who care about their property and want the job done right the first time, and for owners and managers of multi-family and commercial buildings. Many of the homes we work on are older colonials, Victorians and two-family houses around Essex and Union Counties, with steep roofs, brick chimneys and details that need a careful hand.

How we work

• We inspect before we quote. You get an estimate based on what we actually saw, with photos when they help.
• We fix causes, not symptoms. A leak is traced to where water gets in, not just patched where it shows up.
• We plan the exterior as a system. Roof, chimney, siding, windows and doors all meet at flashing and trim. We make sure those joints are sealed.
• We keep the site clean. Every day, not just on the last day.
• We speak your language. Se habla español, from the first call to the final walk-through.
